I’m planning a solo trip to Bangkok, but I’m a little nervous. Is it generally safe and easy to get around alone? Any tips for solo travelers, especially for meeting other people or staying safe?

I traveled to Bangkok solo and had an amazing time! The city is very welcoming to solo travelers, and it’s easy to meet people, especially if you stay in hostels or join tours. The public transport system (BTS and MRT) is easy to use, and Grab is super convenient if you don’t want to navigate taxis. I never felt unsafe, but I did stick to well-lit, busy areas at night. Bangkok’s mix of street food, culture, and nightlife is perfect for exploring on your own, and I always found people willing to help if I needed directions or advice.
I went to Bangkok solo and found it to be very solo-traveler-friendly. It’s safe, and there are plenty of other solo travelers around, especially in areas like Khao San Road and Silom. I’d recommend planning out a few group activities or day tours to meet people—cooking classes, market tours, and temple visits are great for that. Keep an eye on your belongings in crowded areas (as you would anywhere), but other than that, it’s a great city for solo exploring. Plus, Bangkok has a lot of co-working spaces if you’re a digital nomad!
